In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Recon are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Gravity doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Recon’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Gravity doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The Jeep Recon’s 360-degree camera has integrated front and rear camera washers, ensuring clear, all-weather visibility without the need for manual cleaning. In contrast, the Lucid Motors Gravity lacks camera washers, requiring you to manually clean the cameras for optimal performance.

The Recon has standard Uconnect Access, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Recon’s electric motors produces 90 more horsepower (650 vs. 560) than the Gravity Touring’s standard electric motors.

The Recon has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Gravity; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For greater off-road capability the Recon has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Gravity (9.1 vs. 8.7 inches), allowing the Recon to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Recon uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Gravity doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Recon has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Gravity doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Recon to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Gravity doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Recon has a standard rear wiper. The Gravity doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Recon’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Gravity’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.

When the Recon is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Gravity’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The Recon has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Gravity.
