To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Recon. But it costs extra on the Optiq.

The Jeep Recon’s 360-degree camera is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Cadillac Optiq only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the Recon and the Optiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Jeep Recon weighs 667 to 920 pounds more than the Cadillac Optiq. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are over 4 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Recon’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jeep vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jeep above average in initial quality. With 14 more problems per 100 vehicles, Cadillac is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Jeep vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Jeep 2 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The Recon’s electric motors produces 335 more horsepower (650 vs. 315) and 288 lbs.-ft. more torque (620 vs. 332) than the Optiq’s standard electric motor. The Recon’s electric motors produces 210 more horsepower (650 vs. 440) and 122 lbs.-ft. more torque (620 vs. 498) than the Optiq’s optional electric motors. The Recon’s electric motors produces 131 more horsepower (650 vs. 519) than the Optiq-V’s optional electric motors.

The Recon has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Optiq; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Recon is 2 inches wider in the front and 66.1 inches wider in the rear than on the Optiq.

For greater off-road capability the Recon has a 3.1 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Optiq (9.1 vs. 6 inches), allowing the Recon to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Recon has 10.3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Optiq (111.3 vs. 101).

The Recon has 2.7 inches more front headroom, .2 inches more front hip room, 1.6 inches more front shoulder room, 1.9 inches more rear headroom, .7 inches more rear legroom, 4 inches more rear hip room and 1.6 inches more rear shoulder room than the Optiq.

A standard locking center console keeps your small valuables safer in the Recon. The Optiq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

While the Optiq V-Series is not recommended to tow, any Recon can tow a minimum of 3300 pounds.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Recon to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Optiq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Recon has a standard rear wiper. The Optiq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
